Getting an insurance license in Florida
Florida licenses through the Florida Department of Financial Services, Division of Insurance Agent and Agency Services, which calls the licensee an agent. Which license you need depends on what you intend to sell, and the requirements differ sharply between them.

Lets you sell life insurance, annuities and variable contracts in Florida. It is the life half of the 2-15 without the health half, and it takes half the course hours.

Lets you sell health insurance, life insurance, annuities and variable contracts in Florida. It is the broadest of the state's life and health licenses, and the one most people mean when they say they want to sell life and health insurance.

Florida requires pre-licensing education, but the hour count is per license type rather than per state, so it is not stated here. It is on each license's course route. This record exists to say the requirement is live and has not been repealed.
