Which of these 4?
They are not variations of one license. Which you want changes what you have to study and what you may sell.
- Professional Bondsman No course No course sold
Pledges its own cash as security for a bail bond. South Dakota approves it directly rather than through an insurer, and the price of that is an annual financial statement, trust deposits and a yearly list of forfeitures.
- Property Bondsman No course No course sold
Pledges real or other property rather than cash as security for a bail bond. It is the only bail license in South Dakota whose definition does not turn on the director's prior approval.
- Runner No course No course sold
Works for a bail bondsman: gets the defendant to court, keeps them under surveillance, and helps bring them back if they run. South Dakota licenses it separately from the bondsman it works for, and the same felony disqualification reaches it.
- Surety Bondsman No course No course sold
Writes bail bonds for an insurer under a power of attorney. It is the one of South Dakota's four bail licenses that depends on somebody else's appointment, and the paper behind it cannot be sat online.
