2-20 or 20-44?
Whether to cover businesses as well as households. It is the largest course gap between any two licenses on this site, and it buys the commercial half of property and casualty.
The gap is 140 hours of pre-licensing course, with the 2-20 the longer of the two.

What 2-20 lets you sell
The property and casualty license: home, auto, commercial and marine insurance. Its course route is 200 hours, by far the longest of any Florida license, which is why the other five routes matter more here than anywhere else.
What 20-44 lets you sell
Property and casualty insurance sold to individuals and families rather than to businesses. It covers most of what a personal auto and homeowners agent sells, at 60 course hours against the 2-20's 200.
Every figure in the table is read from each license's own page at build time, so this comparison cannot disagree with them. Both were read at the Florida Department of Financial Services, Division of Insurance Agent and Agency Services on 2026-08-13.
