Stands behind the guarantee that comes with a protection product, the rustproofing or the paint sealant or the theft deterrent, and Washington registers it separately from the service contract provider it sits beside in the same chapter. $200,000 of net worth, $250 to apply and $250 every 1 July.

    Net worth

    • The most recent annual financial statements, or statements certified as accurate by two or more officers, proving a minimum net worth or stockholder's equity of $200,000 calculated under RCW 48.110.078 and the ability to pay debts when they fall due

    and assurance that the guarantees will be honored

    • Demonstrated financial responsibility, or assurance of faithful performance to guarantee holders, by one of the routes in RCW 48.110.050, with a copy of any reimbursement insurance policy relied on and a copy of each guarantee proposed for use in Washington

    and who is behind the business

    • The names of the executive officers directly responsible for the guarantee business and their biographical affidavits on the commissioner's form, and the name, address and telephone number of any administrator designated to administer guarantees in this state

    RCW 48.110.055(2) is the same double bar as the service contract provider's, on the person and on the sale, and it adds financial responsibility to the registration as a second condition rather than leaving it inside the application. The fee is $250 to apply under (3)(f) and $250 annually on 1 July under (6), where the service contract provider renews at $200, so the two registrations in one chapter are priced the same to enter and differently to keep. The section was last amended by 2025 c 50 s 3. The Office runs both through one application flow, headed for guaranteed asset protection waivers, service contract providers and protection product guarantees together, and lists them separately on the roster of regulated entities that must appoint the commissioner for service of legal process.

No national seller sells a course for this license, which is the same answer as its neighbor the service contract provider and for the same reason: the test is net worth and assurance of performance, not knowledge.
