Tenn. Code Ann. 56-35-110(a), quoted at the top of the Department's own packet: "No person within this state shall act or hold such person out as a title insurance agency unless the person has been issued a certificate of authority by the commissioner."Subsection (b) fixes the filing fee at $110. The packet asks for a money order, certified check or cashier's check rather than a personal one. There is no examination and no course. This is not the entity form of the individual Title producer license: it is issued under a different chapter, priced separately and listed as its own type in the Department's licensee lookup.
