-
an Oregon insurance producer license issued under ORS 744.062, indorsed with the designation of reinsurance intermediary
- or
for a nonresident, a current resident reinsurance intermediary or insurance producer license in the applicant's home state, in good standing, where that state licenses Oregon residents as nonresident reinsurance intermediaries on the same basis
and an office, here or in a state with substantially similar law
-
An office in Oregon, held directly or as a member or employee of a firm or association or an officer, director or employee of a corporation; or an office in another state whose law is substantially similar to ORS 744.800 to 744.818, for a broker who is licensed there
ORS 744.800(5) is the granting sentence and it stacks this on the producer license: "The director shall issue a resident reinsurance intermediary license to a person if the person holds an insurance producer license issued under ORS 744.062 and indorsed with the designation of reinsurance intermediary."So the examination in front of it is the producer examination for the classes concerned and there is no separate reinsurance paper. 744.800(1) defines the two roles and 744.800(8) makes the second an indorsement rather than a license of its own: a resident reinsurance intermediary obtains and keeps the indorsement of reinsurance intermediary manager by satisfying the errors and omissions requirement at 744.818. That puts Oregon with Vermont, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maine on one license, against Michigan and Alaska on two, and it is the only one of the six that reaches the second role through an indorsement. 744.800(4) makes a license issued to a firm, association or corporation authorize every named member, officer, director and designated employee, all of whom must appear in the application or a supplement to it. 744.802 exempts an officer or employee of the ceding insurer, an employee of the reinsurer, the United States manager of an alien reinsurer's branch, a commonly controlled underwriting manager whose pay is not based on premium volume, the manager of a joint underwriting or joint reinsurance group subject to examination where its principal office sits, and an attorney at law rendering services as one.

No national seller sells a course for this license. There is no reinsurance intermediary paper in Oregon. ORS 744.800(5) stacks the license on a producer license indorsed for the role, so the examination underneath it is the producer one, which has a course list on this site.
