Binds or manages assumed reinsurance business for a reinsurer, which is the half of the trade with authority. It carries the same producer license and no examination, and the Commissioner may add a bond and errors and omissions cover that the broker's side never faces.

    The producer license underneath it

    • an Oklahoma insurance producer license, which 36 O.S. 5103 requires of a reinsurance intermediary maintaining an office in this state, whether directly or as a member, employee, officer or director of a firm or corporation

    and a bond and errors and omissions cover, where the Commissioner asks

    • 36 O.S. 5103(C) lets the Commissioner require a manager to file a bond in an amount from an insurer acceptable to the Commissioner for the protection of the reinsurer, and to maintain an errors and omissions policy in an amount acceptable to the Commissioner. Neither reaches the broker.

    36 O.S. 5102 defines the manager as anybody with authority to bind, or who manages a separate division, department or underwriting office with responsibility for, or manages all or part of, the assumed reinsurance business of a reinsurer and acts as its agent. 5103(B) has three limbs rather than the broker's two: a manager for a reinsurer domiciled in Oklahoma must be a licensed producer here; a manager with an office here must be a licensed producer here; and a manager acting in another state for a nondomestic insurer must be licensed as a producer here, or in a state with a substantially similar law, or as a nonresident reinsurance intermediary here. No examination and no course. 5109 puts the matching duty on the reinsurer, which may not engage an unlicensed manager.

The Oklahoma products sellers do carry are all for a producer line or for the adjuster; Aceable sells nothing in Oklahoma at all. Oklahoma asks for no course here and its examination vendor publishes no paper for this license, so there is nothing to sell.
