    • A detailed plan of operation; competence, trustworthiness and an intention to act in good faith; a good business reputation with experience, training or education qualifying the applicant; and evidence of financial responsibility of $250,000, as a surety bond issued by an insurer authorized to write surety bonds in this state or a deposit of cash, certificates of deposit or securities, or any combination

    RSA 408-D:3, VI(a) is four findings and the fourth is the one with a number in it: $250,000 of financial responsibility, as a bond from an insurer authorized to issue surety bonds here or a deposit of cash, certificates of deposit or securities or any combination of them. The bond runs in favor of the state and authorizes the commissioner to recover for anybody who sustained damages from erroneous acts, failure to act, or a conviction for fraud or unfair practices, and RSA 408-D:3, VI(b)(5) lets an applicant already licensed elsewhere show that the same instruments are filed in one state where they hold a license rather than duplicating them. No examination and no course. RSA 408-D:3, I(a) is worth reading before assuming a New Hampshire license is needed at all: the license comes from the state where the viator resides, and New Hampshire’s is required only where the viator’s own state has no licensing requirement. Renewal is annual on the anniversary date, which puts it with the managing general agent and against almost everything else here.
