Helps Nevadans enroll in coverage through the state's health insurance exchange. Nevada certifies it rather than licensing it, and it is the only credential in the state whose twenty hours are asked of the applicant rather than of the course provider.

  1. Route 1 Take the 20-hour precertification course

    State exam required

    • 20 hours of five hours on title 57 of NRS and the regulations under it, at least half of that on law common to every line of insurance, and fifteen hours on the principles of insurance and of health insurance, policy contracts and coverage, group and special plans, the ethical responsibilities of a facilitator, and government regulation, approved by the Department , completed within 1 year

    NRS 695J.110(4) requires the course and names no length, delegating it, which is the shape New Jersey and Oregon and West Virginia have. NAC 695J.100 puts the duty on the applicant: the attestation of completion is made before the certification examination is taken, and the course has to have been completed within the year immediately before the application. NAC 695J.140(1) is where the five and the fifteen are. The examination and the fee are NRS 695J.110(3) and 695J.130, and fingerprints are 695J.120.

Twenty credits is the figure NAC 695J.140(1) asks of the applicant. It is the only course in Nevada's whole pre-licensing register that names the Exchange Enrollment Facilitator
