Every way to qualify

  1. Route 1 Hold a resident property and casualty producer license

No state exam for this license

    The producer license underneath it

    • a current Nebraska insurance producer license; PSI's candidate information bulletin adds that a surplus lines applicant must hold a resident property and casualty producer license

    and the fee

    • $250 for the individual license and $250 for an agency license, initial and renewal alike, which is five times the ordinary producer fee and the highest figure on Nebraska's individual schedule. Reinstatement within twelve months is $350 plus the application.

Neb. Rev. Stat. 44-5503 issues the license, revocable at any time, to an individual who currently holds an insurance producer license or to a corporation. A corporate surplus lines license lists every officer or employee authorized to transact surplus lines business, and only those listed may. PSI's bulletin lists Surplus Lines Licensee among the producer lines with "No exam required". 44-5508 is what the license actually costs in work rather than fees: diligent search of the admitted market, the affidavit, and the quarterly statement and premium tax at 44-5506.

No national seller sells a course for this license. Aceable does not sell Nebraska at all. There is no examination and no course. The qualification is a resident property and casualty producer license, and the products that prepare for that sit on the property and casualty pages.
