The Nebraska Managing General Agent license
Managing General Agent
Underwrites or adjusts on an insurer's behalf at a scale that makes it the insurer's own operation in miniature. Nebraska does not give it a license of its own: it sends the applicant back to the producer act, and then adds a bond the producer act never mentions.

The producer license underneath it
-
A license under the Insurance Producers Licensing Act. Neb. Rev. Stat. 44-4903 creates no separate qualification: it says nobody shall act as a managing general agent for a Nebraska-licensed insurer, or for a Nebraska-domiciled insurer on out-of-state risks, "unless such person is licensed in accordance with the Insurance Producers Licensing Act".
and the bond
-
A bond on the form the Department publishes, executed by an insurer that is different from and not affiliated with the insurer contracting with the managing general agent, and written by an insurer licensed in Nebraska or through a surplus lines licensee. 210 NAC 59, section 004, is where that independence requirement is set, and it is the whole point of the form.
and the fee
-
$50 for the license and $50 for each renewal, charged the same to an individual and to an agency, which is the ordinary producer figure rather than a premium.
Neb. Rev. Stat. 44-4903 is the licensing section of the Managing General Agents Act, 44-4901 to 44-4910, and 210 NAC 59 is the Director's rule implementing it. There is no examination and no course. The rule is where the record-keeping lives and the periods are long: 25 years after a liability transaction, seven after a property one, or until the limitation period expires, whichever is later, and everything goes back to the insurer within 90 days of a request after the contract ends. The definition of who is caught is in 44-4902 and turns on volume rather than on title.

No national seller sells a course for this license. Aceable does not sell Nebraska at all. There is no examination and no course. The qualification is a producer license the applicant already holds plus a bond, and the products that prepare for the producer license sit on the producer pages.
