The Nebraska Apprentice Insurance Producer license
Apprentice Insurance Producer
A 120-day temporary producer license for somebody who has not sat the paper yet, obtainable exactly once in a lifetime and only with a sponsor who has been licensed a year. It is the only license on this site created by a guidance document rather than by a statute or a rule.

The sponsor
-
A resident insurance producer licensed and in good standing in Nebraska for at least one year immediately preceding the sponsorship, who signs a form stating that the applicant is being considered for appointment after licensure, that the sponsor wants the temporary license issued, that the sponsor is a suitable sponsor under 44-4058(2) and assumes responsibility for all acts of the apprentice, that the applicant will train under the sponsor's supervision, and that the applicant intends to seek the same lines of authority as the sponsor.
and the application
-
The uniform application in the form 44-4053 requires, with the nonrefundable filing fee, which the Department's schedule prices at $50. No written examination is required to obtain the temporary license, and it may not be issued to somebody who does not intend to apply for a full resident producer license.
Nebraska Department of Insurance Guidance Document IGD - - D7, issued 2022-11-17 and effective 2022-12-01, which is where this license lives. Its statutory hook is Neb. Rev. Stat. 44-4058, the ordinary temporary producer license the director may issue "when the Director deems that the public interest will best be served", and the Director has deemed apprenticeship to be such a case. The limits are all in the guidance and none of them is in the Code: 120 days, obtainable once only, ten days to find a new sponsor if the old one stops and no selling in the interim, no commission on a sale to the apprentice's own family, employer or employee, and no replacement business in life or annuities at all. A sponsor may supervise no more than 10 apprentices in a calendar year and no more than 5 at once, and a sponsor of more than 5 in a year has to see at least 25 percent of them actually sit the licensing examination or explain to the Department why not.

No national seller sells a course for this license. Aceable does not sell Nebraska at all. Nothing could be sold against it. The apprentice license exists precisely to let somebody sell before sitting the paper, the qualification is a sponsor's signature rather than anything the applicant studies, and it can be held once for 120 days.
