The Missouri Vehicle Protection Product Warrantor license

Vehicle Protection Product Warrantor

Stands behind the anti-theft etching or the paint protection sold with a car. Missouri registers the warrantor annually and asks for the warranty itself on file, which few registrations here do.

  1. Route 1 Register with the Department, and file the warranties

No state exam for this license

    The registration

    • Registration with the Department on the director's form before operating as a warrantor or representing to the public that the person is one. The records are filed annually and updated within thirty days of any change, and the director may charge a reasonable fee to offset processing.

and what has to be on file

    • The warrantor's name and any fictitious names, principal office and telephone, the agent for service of process, the executive officers directly responsible for the vehicle protection product business, any administrators, the warranty reimbursement insurance policy or the other financial evidence section 385.412 allows, a copy of every warranty proposed for use in Missouri, and a statement of which limb of 385.412 the warrantor qualifies under.

Sections 385.400 to 385.436, RSMo, the Missouri Vehicle Protection Product Act, enacted in 2007. There is no examination and no course. 385.424 is the one that shapes the market: it prohibits the use of certain names and terms, so a warrantor may not describe the product in the language of insurance.

No national seller sells a course for this license. Aceable does not sell Missouri at all. There is no examination and no course. The registration turns on the warranty on file and the reimbursement policy behind it.
