The Massachusetts Variable Life and Variable Annuity Products license
Variable Life and Variable Annuity Products
Sells cover provided under variable life insurance contracts and variable annuities in Massachusetts. There is no Massachusetts examination for it and no course either, but it cannot be held on its own: an active Life line and a valid FINRA number come first.

Every way to qualify
-
Route 1 Hold the Life line and a valid FINRA number
No state exam for this license
Massachusetts Life line
-
an active Massachusetts producer license carrying the Life line of authority
and securities registration
-
a valid FINRA CRD number, provided to the Division with the application
The Division's per-line table gives this line no examination and two conditions instead, and they are owed together rather than either. G.L. c. 175, 162O waives prelicensing education and examinations and nothing else, so holding the line in another state opens no second way in here: the Life line and the FINRA number are still owed. The securities registration is not the commonwealth's and is not priced on this site. A producer who then sells annuities owes the annuity suitability training at 211 CMR 96.00, which is a training requirement after licensure rather than a way into one.

No national seller sells a course for this license. The line is added to a producer license that already carries Life on the strength of a FINRA number rather than a Massachusetts paper, and Pearson's list of every examination the Division gives has no variable paper on it, so there is no state examination here to prepare for.
