The Massachusetts Self-Service Storage Agent license
Self-Service Storage Agent
Lets a storage facility operator sell cover on what a tenant leaves in the unit, incidental to renting the space. One license covers every location the operator runs, and the employees who actually sell hold nothing at all.

and the training program
-
Basic instruction for every employee and authorized representative directly engaged in selling, covering the section itself and the kinds of coverage it authorizes. The materials go to the Commissioner on request rather than for approval.
G.L. c. 175, section 229, added by chapter 401 of the Acts of 2016. The Commissioner may issue a renewable license for a term of not more than two years, and the licensee's employees and authorized representatives sell under it without licenses of their own. There is no examination in the section and the Division says so in its own words. Subsection (l) takes the section 177E continuing education requirement off the licensee outright. A separate license is not needed for each facility, and the Commissioner gets fifteen days' notice before business starts at a location that was not on the application or stops at one that was. Two things are worth knowing about the citation. The chapter carries two sections numbered 229 from the same legislative session, this one from chapter 401 and an unrelated one from chapter 402 section 4 applying chapter 176V to insurers, and the legislature prints each with a note pointing at the other. And section 229 defines its own terms by pointing at chapter 105A, the self-service storage facility chapter, rather than at the insurance code.

No national seller sells a course for this license, and nothing could. The license goes to the storage facility operator on an application, the Division states that no examination is required, and the only instruction anywhere near it is the training the operator gives its own staff.
