Every way to qualify

  1. Route 1 Ask the Department, with the reason

No state exam for this license

    • A request to the Department's agent licensing division with a detailed description of why the temporary license is needed. The commissioner issues it only where issuing it is considered necessary for the servicing of an insurance business in the best interests of the public.

IC 27-1-15.6-11. There is no course, no examination and no application fee schedule for it, because it is not applied for in the ordinary sense: the Department takes the request by email and the commissioner decides. It runs for not more than 180 days. Alabama's temporary producer is on this site for the same reason this one is, that the department names it on its own list of what it issues; Rhode Island's, Maine's, Oregon's and Pennsylvania's are not, because theirs are not.

No national seller sells a course for this license, and nothing could. The commissioner issues this one on a written request where it is needed to keep a book serviced, for no more than 180 days, and nobody studies for it.
