The attestation page from the Department's Limited Lines Producer Pre-Licensing Manual, signed by the applicant, together with a criminal history request and release form, fingerprints taken for this purpose, an application through NIPR and a non-refundable $80 fee
Idaho's limited lines are lines of authority on the producer license rather than licenses of their own, and the Department says so in one sentence: "Limited Lines of authority do not have their own license, they are lines of authority that can be held on a Producer license." 41-1008(1)(g) is where they come from, the paragraph that ends the six named lines with "any other line of insurance permitted under state laws or rules". What separates them from a major line is the examination, and the Department's own Limited Lines Producer Pre-Licensing Manual states it flatly: "There is no testing requirement for a Limited Lines License."What stands in its place is the manual itself and an attestation. An applicant reads the manual, is fingerprinted, applies through NIPR, and emails the attestation page from the manual and a criminal history request and release form, with a non-refundable $80 fee. The Department's limited lines page puts the attestation exactly where the pass slips would go for a major line: "follow all the same steps as a producer, except the attestation page needs to be submitted in lieu of pass slips."A self-study manual with a signed attestation and no examination is not a course requirement and nothing can be sold against it, but it is the closest thing to one that this state asks of anybody. Idaho's credit line is one of the widest on this site. The Department's manual enumerates it as credit life, credit disability, credit property, credit unemployment, involuntary unemployment, mortgage life, mortgage guaranty, mortgage disability, and guaranteed automobile protection, and treats mortgage travel insurance under the same heading. Nine kinds of cover under one line of authority, where several states here split GAP off on its own and Utah gives it a license of its own as a guaranteed asset protection waiver. One limit runs across all of them and it is easy to miss: "We will not issue an additional limited line if you hold the major line which covers it in Idaho or the limited line is not listed by name on your home state license."So a producer already holding Casualty or Personal Lines cannot add the limited line underneath it, and a nonresident cannot add a line their own state does not name.

No national seller sells a course for this license. Nothing could: Idaho's own manual says "There is no testing requirement for a Limited Lines License", and what stands in place of a paper is the manual itself with a signed attestation page.
