A limited adjuster license for somebody who adjusts workers' compensation claims and nothing else, on its own paper. It is the only license on this site that has to be re-examined to be renewed: the extension is biennial and conditional on passing the examination again.

    • Domiciled in Hawaii, or in a state that permits residents of Hawaii to act as adjusters in that other state

    and experience in workers' compensation claims specifically

    • Experience, special education, or training in handling loss claims under workers' compensation contracts, of sufficiently reasonable duration and extent to enable an individual to fulfill the responsibilities of an adjuster

    431:9-222.5(a) is the limited license and it narrows the experience limb as well as the paper: the training has to be in workers' compensation claims rather than in loss claims generally. The Division names the paper, "Pass Hawaii workers compensation adjuster exam for work comp adjuster license", and it is not the Hawaii Adjuster paper the independent and public licenses sit. 431:9-222.5(b) is the provision that has no equal anywhere else on this site: "An adjuster with a limited license issued under this section may extend the license biennially upon successfully passing a reexamination."The Division repeats it in its own renewal instructions, "For work comp adjuster: You are required to retake and successfully pass the Hawaii Insurance License Exam for renewal."Every other state here renews an adjuster on hours or on a fee. The Division's own list names this a license type and the statute calls it a limited license on the adjuster; it is built under the Division's name with the statute's shape on the page, which is Idaho's rule of 2026-08-19.

No national seller sells a course for this license. The four with a Hawaii adjuster product name the Hawaii Adjuster paper, which is the independent and public license's paper; nobody prices preparation for the Hawaii workers compensation adjuster examination, which is the one this license sits and the one it has to sit again at every renewal.
