Affiliation with an approved Navigator Grantee organization, proved on the application. The Office is plain that the applicant cannot supply this themselves: "You must be associated and sponsored by an approved Navigator organization to apply for a Navigator license."Rule 120-2-3-.48(2)(g) puts it as approval by the State authorities, by grant or otherwise, of the applicant or the sponsoring entity.
The Office asks for a 10-hour course "under the category of Navigator" from a state-approved provider and sends the applicant to its own Approved Courses Inquiry to find one; the register carries a Navigator PE category and two courses in it. Rule 120-2-3-.48(2)(c) says something larger and the two have to be read together: it asks for "not less than 35 hours of instruction", and (4) then explains that up to 25 of those may be training the approved provider or grantee gives, with "the remaining 10 hours... satisfied by completing the 10 hour Navigator prelicensing course through an approved provider". The ten hours are the part an applicant can buy; the twenty-five are the part the grantee supplies. Rule 120-2-3-.08(3) sets the subjects of the ten. The paper is exam code 84, one hour at $67, and the license expires every 31 August whatever month it was issued.
