The Georgia Limited Credit Insurance Agency license
Limited Credit Insurance Agency
An agency license for a business whose employees sell credit insurance without being licensed themselves. It is priced per employee and per location rather than per license, which puts Georgia with the three dozen portable electronics, self-storage and rental licenses here that are counted by location rather than by licensee.

The employees
-
A list of the individual employees who will sell, solicit or negotiate insurance for the applicant without holding an agent license, each with a name, a social security number and a date of birth, a certification that the applicant has examined the character and fitness of each including a background check, and an attached certificate of completion of the training O.C.G.A. 33-23-12(b.1) requires. Those employees are registered with the Department rather than licensed by it.
and the locations
-
A list of the locations where credit insurance will be sold on the applicant's behalf, each with an address, an FEIN where there is one and a contact person. Those locations are registered too, and a location added mid-term costs another $50.
Rule 120-2-3-.49(2): "No examination is required for licensure". The fee is the O.C.G.A. 33-8-1 principal agency license fee plus $100 for every registered employee and $20 for every registered location, and the same arithmetic runs again at every biennial renewal on 31 December. Adding an employee or a location during the term costs $50 each, which is less than the $100 an employee costs at renewal and more than the $20 a location does. Idaho licenses its title agent county by county and Oklahoma licenses a vending machine one at a time; this is the same idea applied to a payroll. Failing to file a complete renewal does not lapse the license into a grace period: 120-2-3-.49(5) sends the licensee back to the initial application.

No national seller sells a course for this license. No examination is required of the agency and the training the registered employees take is the applicant's own, filed as a certificate of completion with the application.
