The Georgia Crop Hail Adjuster license

Crop Hail Adjuster

An adjuster limited to crop hail and multi-peril crop insurance, who may not represent an insured. Georgia asks for no course and no paper: a CAPP card is the whole qualification, and the Office says so in five words on its own page.

Course

This license has no pre-licensing course route.

Every way to qualify

More than one route leads to this license, and which one you take changes what you study and whether you sit the exam. There is no pre-licensing course among them: this license is qualified for by a designation already held or moving here already licensed.

  1. Route 1 Hold a CAPP card

No state exam for this license

    • CAPP Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program certification, which the Office calls a CAPP card and attaches to the application, from National Crop Insurance Services, under a program approved by the Risk Management Agency of the United States Department of Agriculture

The Office's requirement for this license is one line: "CAPP card is required. No pre-licensing course or exam."Rule 120-2-3-.25(4)(b) says the same thing in the abstract, "All applicants must complete an approved proficiency testing program", without naming the program. This is the fifth Georgia name for the same federal certification: Washington's Office calls it pre-licensing education, Hawaii calls it a card, Wyoming says it bypasses the examination, Maine names no program at all, and Georgia writes it CAPP where the other four write CAP.

  2. Route 2 Hold the CPCU or a Universal Claims Certification

No state exam for this license

    • CPCU Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter, from The Institutes

    • or

The Universal Claims Certification (UCC), evidenced on the application. Neither the Commissioner's rule nor the Office's page names the body that awards it, and the Office's continuing education chart exempts a UCC holder from every hour of continuing education an adjuster otherwise owes.

"Applicant must hold the CAPP card or a waiver of examination can be granted if the applicant holds CPCU designation. You must attach a copy of CPCU designation to the application."The Office's license table adds the UCC.

  3. Route 3 Move to Georgia holding the same lines and apply within 90 days

No state exam for this license

    • 90 days Licensed for these same lines in the previous home state, with that license active at the time of the move, the original clearance letter from that state attached to the application, and the application filed within 90 days of the move. Nothing else is asked on this route.

No national seller sells a course for this license. Nobody could: the qualification is a federal proficiency certification run by National Crop Insurance Services, and Georgia's own approved-course register holds no crop course of any kind.
