California Insurance Code section 15016: "An Apprentice Public Insurance Adjuster licensee is a person employed by a Public Insurance Adjuster for the purpose of training."The Department asks for eighteen years of age, California residency or a designated home state, and the $20,000 bond, and records both prelicensing education and the examination as Not required. The fee is $264, the same as the public insurance adjuster's, and the schedule prints N/A in the renewal and late renewal columns alike: this license does not renew.

Nothing is taught and nothing is examined. What the license takes is a job with a licensed public insurance adjuster and a $20,000 bond, so no school has anything to sell against it.
