The Wisconsin Attorney Title license
Attorney Title
A title insurance limited license Wisconsin issues only to Wisconsin lawyers who live here. It is the one Wisconsin license whose course is not approved by the insurance regulator: six hours of continuing legal education on title insurance, approved by the Board of Bar Examiners, inside the year before the application.

Every way to qualify
-
Route 1 Six hours of title insurance CLE, inside a year
No state exam for this license
The course
-
6 hours of title insurance, and nothing else, taken as continuing legal education, approved by the Wisconsin Board of Bar Examiners , completed within 1 year
and the bar membership
-
current membership of the State Bar of Wisconsin, evidenced by a copy of the membership card, and residence in Wisconsin, because the Office issues this license to residents only
The Office's own wording: "Resident attorneys must complete at least six hours of continuing legal education approved by the Wisconsin Board of Bar Examiners dealing solely with title insurance and be completed within one year of the application date."Two things make it unlike every other Wisconsin line. The approving body is not the insurance regulator, which is the Massachusetts shape in a second state: there the Auto Damage Appraiser Licensing Board approves the course and the Division does not, and here the Board of Bar Examiners does. And the state's sourced zero for the limited lines does not reach it: s. Ins 26.04(2) exempts the limited lines from the twenty hours of pre-licensing education, which is true, and this requirement is not pre-licensing education under that rule at all. It is continuing legal education, required before the application, by the department rather than by the rule. There is no examination: the Office's examination requirements page lists Attorney Title among the lines that need none.

A course is required and nobody sells one
No national seller sells a course for this license. The Wisconsin products sellers do carry are all for a major producer line or for the adjuster paper; Aceable sells nothing in Wisconsin at all. Nothing they sell could satisfy this one in any event: the six hours are continuing legal education approved by the Wisconsin Board of Bar Examiners, and an applicant has to be a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin to sit them.
