Every way to qualify

  1. Route 1 Apply to the Bureau

No state exam for this license

    • Introducing viators to viatical settlement providers on behalf of another and for a fee, or offering or attempting to negotiate viatical settlement contracts between a viator and one or more providers

The Bureau's own lines of authority page says "No exam required" against this license and asks for no course either. Virginia's only pre-licensing course is the Title qualification's sixteen hours. The application processing fee is $15. The Bureau adds a condition on whose side the broker is: a viatical settlement broker is not deemed to act exclusively for the viator unless a written agreement makes them disclose every interest in the contract and every relationship with the provider, and makes the viator the only source of their pay. An attorney, certified public accountant or accredited financial planner retained by the viator and not paid by the provider or the purchaser is outside the definition.

The Virginia Bureau of Insurance requires no pre-licensing course for this license, so there is nothing here to price.
