-
Managing all or part of an insurer's insurance business, producing directly or indirectly and underwriting gross direct written premium equal to or exceeding five percent of the insurer's surplus to policyholders in any one quarter or year, together with either adjusting or paying claims above a Commission-set amount or negotiating reinsurance for the insurer
The Bureau's own lines of authority page says "No exam required" against this license and asks for no course either. Virginia's only pre-licensing course is the Title qualification's sixteen hours. The application processing fee is $500, which is the joint highest in Virginia with the two reinsurance intermediary licenses and thirty-three times the $15 an ordinary qualification costs. The five percent threshold is the Bureau's own and it is measured against the last annual statement.
