The license

A portable electronics license issued under SDCL chapter 58-47, which a vendor must hold to sell or offer coverage under a policy of portable electronics insurance. 58-47-3 makes one license authorize any employee or authorized representative of the vendor at each location where the vendor engages in portable electronics transactions.

A registry of the vendor locations authorized to sell or solicit the cover, maintained by the supervising entity rather than by the vendor or the Division, open to the director's inspection during the supervising entity's regular business hours. The supervising entity is itself subject to examination under chapter 58-3.
SDCL chapter 58-47. There is no examination and no pre-licensing course. 58-47-8 is the money: charges the vendor collects for the cover are held in trust in a fiduciary capacity for the insurer, remitted to the supervising entity within sixty days, and the vendor is not required to segregate them if the insurer authorizes another arrangement.
