The South Dakota Crop license
Crop
Sells crop and hail cover to South Dakota growers. It is the only producer line here with a paper of its own that the statute never names: the Division's examination vendor publishes it, and the sixty questions are two-thirds federal multi-peril crop insurance.

The examination
-
Pearson's SD Crop Producer paper, series code InsSD_Crop50, sixty questions in sixty minutes at $85, available in a test centre or online through OnVUE. Its content outline is unlike any other South Dakota paper: 30 to 32 of the sixty questions are multi-peril crop insurance, 14 to 18 are crop hail, and only 8 to 10 are South Dakota statutes.
and the application
-
Application through State Based Systems, filed at least 48 hours after the paper so the result can load, and within 180 days of passing. No pre-licensing course: the Division states that none is required and endorses no official study material.
Pearson's South Dakota Insurance Licensing Candidate Handbook, August 2026, lists nine examinations and Crop is one of them. SDCL 58-30 names no crop line of authority, so the line exists as one of the other lines the director may recognize and the examination vendor is where it is published. That is the same shape Nebraska and Missouri turned out to have, and South Dakota makes three.

No national seller sells a course for this license. Aceable does not sell South Dakota at all. The Crop paper is real, series InsSD_Crop50 at sixty questions, and no seller carries a South Dakota crop product. What the sellers do carry for this state is life, health, property, casualty and personal lines and nothing else.
