Owning a self-service storage facility in Pennsylvania and offering the insurance only in connection with and incidental to the rental of space at it
Section 681-A of the act. The department issues this one to an owner, on a written application naming every location in the Commonwealth where the license will be used, and the owner has 30 days to tell the department when a location opens or closes. No individual licensee is needed at each facility: the employees and authorized representatives sell under the owner's license. Section 604-A(d)(8) excuses a person whose authority is limited to a limited line from the examination, and there has been no course in the act since 2024-10-31, so what is left is the application, the disclosures the act prescribes in 12-point bold type, and the requirement that the insurer be authorized here or a surplus lines insurer.

No national seller sells a course for this license, and nothing could reach it: section 604-A(d)(8) excuses an applicant whose line of authority is limited to a limited line from the producer examination, and Act 142 of 2024 deleted the preexamination education requirement for every line on 31 October 2024. The Department publishes a self-service storage FAQ and an employee register update process instead of anything a school could sell.
