No examination, no course, no experience bar and no fee: the Department's company licensing table prices this license at nothing and runs it for two years
The Department publishes separate qualification packets for the broker and the manager and both open the same way: "In order to act as a reinsurance intermediary broker, you must first obtain a license."So Pennsylvania is a two-license state, with Michigan, Alaska, Texas, Virginia and Hawaii, and against Minnesota, Washington, Oregon, Vermont, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, Wyoming and Alabama, all of which issue one license covering both roles. It is also one of only two things on either Pennsylvania list with no fee at all, the other being the manager. The governing law is 40 P.S. 321.1 et seq.
