A criminal records check requested under Ohio Revised Code 3905.051, which every resident individual applicant for a limited lines license must ask for.
Ohio Revised Code 3905.06(B)(12) names travel insurance as a line of authority and points at 3905.064 to 3905.0611 for what it is. 3905.065 issues the limited lines travel insurance agent license, and 3905.066 is the reason it matters: a travel retailer may offer and disseminate travel insurance without any license of its own, provided it does so on behalf of and under the direction of a licensed limited lines travel insurance agent. So the license here stands behind a shop counter somebody else is working. O.A.C. 3901-5-09(F)(3) is the sentence that covers every Ohio limited line: "No pre-licensing education, licensing examination or continuing education is required for a limited lines license."The Department says it too, on its own limited lines page. A company appointment is not needed to apply and is needed before anything is sold.

Ohio requires no course and no examination for any limited line, and says so in its own rule. No national seller prices a product for this one.
