The Department's definition: "a person who markets goods and services associated with the issuance of title insurance and is sponsored by a licensed title agent or agency". What follows it is the substance of the license, and it is six refusals. A marketing representative may not quote filed title rates or premiums, may not discuss coverage, benefits or limits beyond explaining in general terms the difference between an owner's policy and a lender's, may not recommend, advise about or negotiate title insurance, may not execute or issue a policy, binder or commitment, may not determine insurability, and may not hold themselves out as a representative of a title insurance company. O.A.C. 3901-5-09(F)(2)(e) makes it one of Ohio's eight limited lines, so no course, no examination and no continuing education attach to it. The Department's fee chart prices it at $10 to apply and $25 to renew, which is the same as the title agent's.

Ohio requires no course and no examination for any limited line, and this is one. No national seller prices a product for it.
