Surplus Lines Insurance Producer

a North Dakota insurance producer license qualified as to the line or lines of insurance to be written on a surplus lines basis
N.D.C.C. 26.1-26-17, which is one sentence long: an applicant for a surplus lines insurance producer license must be licensed in this state as an insurance producer qualified as to the line or lines to be written. So the cost of this license is the cost of the underlying one, and the examination that stands in front of it is that line's rather than its own. Delaware, Rhode Island and Vermont stack theirs on a producer license the same way, asking nothing further, where Iowa's excess and surplus lines wants a second examination on top and Utah's surplus lines producer wants years of experience as well.
