State exam required
General Statute 58-33-30(d)(2) and (d)(3) were repealed by Session Laws 2025-45 with effect from 2025-10-01, and (d)(1) now reads that the Commissioner "shall not require an individual who applies for an insurance producer license in this State to complete any specific amount of instruction or any specific course of instruction". That is a prohibition rather than a silence. The examination is untouched and still has to be passed.
