The licensee has died, and the applicant is the executor or administrator of the estate; or a surviving next of kin where no administrator has been appointed and no executor has qualified under a probated will; or the surviving member or members of a firm or association; or an officer or director of a corporation on the death of its only qualified sub-licensee, or that person's executor or administrator.

The licensee is absent in any branch of the armed forces of the United States and has designated the applicant. A partnership or corporation qualifies where all of its sub-licensees are absent in that service.

The licensee has become totally disabled and prevented from pursuing any of the duties of their occupation, and the applicant is their next of kin.
Insurance Law 2109. It reaches the insurance agent, the title insurance agent and the insurance broker licenses, or an agent and broker license together. No written examination is required, and the course requirements of 2104(c) are set aside except as to age for the armed forces ground. 2109(b)(2) charges no fee for the license or for any renewal of it, except that renewing an armed forces designation costs half the ordinary fee.
