Every way to qualify

  1. Route 1 Be registered by the motor club

No state exam for this license

    Registration by the club

    • Registration with the superintendent by the motor club itself. NMSA 59A-50-13(A) forbids anybody to be, act as or purport to be a representative of a motor club unless then so registered.

    and the five qualifications

    • Being an individual of at least eighteen years, of good personal and business reputation, never previously refused registration or had a registration revoked, suitable and competent to act as such a representative, and intending in good faith to act and hold oneself out as one.

NMSA 59A-50-13 and 59A-50-14. A nonresident applicant appoints the superintendent irrevocably as agent for service of process as part of the application. The fee schedule at 59A-6-1(T)(2) prices it at $30 for each representative and $60 for the biennial continuation, and prices the club's own certificate of authority separately at $200 and $100; the certificate is the company's and is not built here. Of the five qualifications only the fourth, being suitable and competent, touches knowledge at all, and no examination or course is set for it.

New Mexico sets no examination and no course for a motor club representative, and the club rather than the individual makes the filing. No national seller prices a product for it.
