The New Jersey Special Nonresident Limited Lines license
Special Nonresident Limited Lines
A license for a limited line New Jersey does not itself issue. A nonresident licensed at home for something New Jersey has no category for is licensed here under this name, and Ohio is the only other state on this site that issues the same instrument, under the name Reciprocal.

The eighth of the eight, and the Department describes it in its own parenthesis: "special nonresident limited lines (for limited lines offered by other states, but not New Jersey)". It is the mirror image of every other limited line on this page: the authority comes from the home state's list rather than from New Jersey's, and New Jersey issues a license so that the holder may do here what they are licensed to do there. New Jersey's pre-licensing requirement is a closed list and this line is not on it. The Department's own answer names the lines that carry it: "All individuals applying for a resident insurance producer license requesting authority to transact Life, Health, Property, Casualty, Personal Lines, Title and Limited Line Bail Bonds who do not qualify for a waiver of prelicensing education must complete a prelicensing education course offered by an approved insurance education provider."Nothing else is on that list, and the hours table beside it prints a figure for those lines and for no others. The license is one of the eight limited lines the Department names, and a limited lines license costs $75 for two years against $150 for the major lines, with a $40 processing fee on a paper application and $20 on a renewal.

No national seller sells a course for this license. The New Jersey products sellers do carry are all for a major producer line or for the adjuster paper; Aceable sells nothing in New Jersey at all. This license exists to carry an authority granted by another state, so what would be prepared for is that state's requirement rather than New Jersey's.
