The same closed list of qualifications as the insurance adjuster, and no course in it. Michigan requires a pre-licensing education program of its producers and MCL 500.1204(2) forbids examining anybody who has not completed a registered one, which makes this the one state on this site where the register decides whether a course counts rather than what may be said about it. It does not reach this license. DIFS answers it in a sentence on its own pre-licensing exclusions page: "Candidates are not required to complete PE if they are obtaining a license for Limited Lines P & C, Title, Adjuster, Counselor, or Surplus Lines."DIFS defines the license by whose side it is on and then draws one hard line through it: an individual allowed by license to contract with and represent insureds who have suffered losses covered by insurance for fire and other hazards, and "adjusters for the insured may not adjust worker's compensation losses". That is the mirror of the insurance adjuster, who may. The state sets a Public Adjuster paper of its own, a hundred items at seventy-one percent, and the six month clock runs from the application rather than from the score. Two more things sit around the license. DIFS publishes Bulletin 2019-07-INS on the adjuster for the insured contract, and the contract is filed rather than merely signed. And a salaried company adjuster needs no license at all, but that exemption reaches only the insurer who actually employs them: it does not extend to affiliated insurers inside a holding company group, nor to somebody leased in through a management company.

No national seller sells a course for this license. Michigan sets a Public Adjuster paper of its own, a hundred items at seventy-one percent, and nobody sells preparation for it. What sellers do carry for Michigan adjusters is aimed at the other license, the one that represents insurance companies, and it is on the Insurance Adjuster page.
