A license limited to selling motor vehicle insurance coverages only, including bodily injury and property damage cover on a vehicle. Maryland issues it under its own section to somebody qualified in the ordinary way, so the examination reaches it.

    Maryland splits its qualifications in two and the split is by kind of insurance rather than by license type. Md. Code, Insurance 10-104 governs an applicant for anything other than life, health or annuities and 10-105 governs those; both list the same things, and neither lists a course any more. What each requires is good character and trustworthiness under 10-126, being at least 18, no act warranting denial, and passing the Commissioner's examination. The examination sections are 10-108 and 10-109: the paper is graded within 30 days, and an applicant who fails may not sit again for four days, which is the shortest cooling-off period recorded on this site. The pre-licensing course that used to sit alongside was repealed with effect from 2024-10-01 by HB 265 and SB 336, and Bulletin 24-19 is the Administration's own notice of it. Maryland has no reciprocity route into a resident license, and 10-119 is why rather than a gap here: it waives the application requirements for an applicant who is NOT a resident of this State, with a valid home state license, where the home state reciprocates. That is the nonresident license, a different thing. Montana and Oklahoma are the other two states on this site whose waiver is written for somebody who does not live there.

The Maryland products sellers do carry are all for a major producer line or for the adjuster paper; Aceable sells nothing in Maryland at all. Maryland asks for no course here and its examination vendor gives no paper for this license, so there is nothing to sell.
