    The policies and the appointment

    • Every policy filed with and approved by the Commissioner, an appointment held with each authorized insurer the company intends to represent under 10-118, and the Commissioner's approved disclosures given to the renter before the rental transaction completes.

    and a training program for the people who will sell

    • 10-604(a)(4) makes the company provide a training program approved by the Commissioner for any employee or authorized representative who sells, solicits or negotiates the cover. It is the company's duty to provide rather than the applicant's duty to complete, which is why it is not a pre-licensing course on this page: the person at the counter is not the licensee.

    Md. Code, Insurance 10-602(a) requires the license before the company or its employees or authorized representatives may sell, and (b) then extends it to every trained employee and authorized representative, so one license covers the whole counter. (c) makes their acts the company's acts. 10-604(a) limits the cover to rentals of 30 days or less and (b)(2) lists what may be sold with it. 10-601(c)(2) draws the boundary that matters now: a motor vehicle rental company "does not include a peer-to-peer car sharing program as defined in 19-520", which Maryland licenses separately. Maryland's 2024 repeal of the program of study is scoped to applicants who sit an examination, and this line sits none, so the zero on the state page reaches it by a different road: there is no course here because the subtitle asks for none.

The Maryland products sellers do carry are all for a major producer line or for the adjuster paper; Aceable sells nothing in Maryland at all. Maryland asks for no course here and its examination vendor gives no paper for this license, so there is nothing to sell.
