    The club's notification

    • The licensed motor club notifies the Commissioner of the name, title and address of each individual it wishes to appoint as a representative. A representative is an individual who, for compensation, solicits or sells memberships, subscriptions or franchises for a motor club.

    and the registration

    • The Maryland Motor Club Representative Registration form and the fee, submitted on paper by post with a check, money order or cashier's check. There is no examination and no course.

The club itself is licensed under Title 26 of the Insurance Article, where 26-101(c) defines the license as one issued by the Commissioner to provide motor club service and 26-203 asks the club for an application under oath and a $200 application fee. The representative's registration is the layer below it. Two things about it are unusual. The fee moves with the calendar: $5 for a registration submitted between 1 September and 30 April and $7 between 1 May and 31 August, because registrations expire annually on a fixed date and a late-year registration is buying a shorter term. And the renewal is not the registrant's to make: "Only the Motor Club Company may submit a registration renewal", at $2 for a one-year term.

No national seller sells a course for this license. The Maryland products sellers do carry are all for a major producer line or for the adjuster paper; Aceable sells nothing in Maryland at all. A motor club representative is registered by the club on a form, with no paper and no course.
