Every way to qualify

  1. Route 1 Apply and answer the Commissioner's interrogatories on oath

No state exam for this license

K.S.A. 40-2604(c). The application is a written form plus sworn answers to whatever interrogatories the Commissioner sets, and the Commissioner may at any time require full disclosure of every stockholder, partner, officer and employee, and may refuse the license in the name of a firm if not satisfied that anybody who could materially influence its conduct meets the standards of the act. There is no examination and no course. The continuation fee is capped at $100 and is due on or before 1 April for a license year starting 1 May; 40-2604(b)(1)(B) makes late payment fatal rather than merely expensive, "Failure to pay the continuation fee within the time prescribed shall automatically revoke the license."
