    No state exam for this license

    Iowa Life line

    • an active Iowa insurance license carrying the Life line of authority

    and securities examinations

    • a pass in the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority examinations needed to obtain an Iowa securities license

    Iowa rule 191-10.4(8), and rule 191-10.24(3)(d) for why this is the only route. The testing service prepares an examination for every line of authority except variable contracts, so there is no Iowa examination here to sit and none to be exempted from. Iowa Code 522B.8 waives examinations and nothing else, which is why holding the line in another state does not open a second way in: the Life line and the securities examinations are still owed. Both requirements below are owed rather than either. The securities examinations are not Iowa's and are not priced here.
