Every way to qualify

  1. Route 1 Be certified and put forward by the fraternal society

No state exam for this license

    • A certificate from the fraternal benefit society to be named in the license, executed and acknowledged by an officer or managing agent, stating that the society has satisfied itself that the applicant is trustworthy and competent and that it will appoint the applicant if the license issues, under Conn. Gen. Stat. 38a-800(b)(2)(B)

Conn. Gen. Stat. 38a-800(b)(3) is the zero and it is a prohibition rather than a silence: "No written or other examination shall be required of any individual seeking to be named as a licensee to represent a fraternal benefit society as its agent."The Department matches it, "No pre-licensing course or examination is required for this license type", and answers the education question with the word "None". The society files the application through NIPR, files a Fraternal Agent Supplemental Form beside it, and files the appointment once the license issues. Connecticut licenses no fraternal business entity and asks for only one fraternal agent license however many societies appoint the holder. No continuing education and no fingerprints. The Department prints a warning on the page in both directions: an applicant who has just sat a life or accident and health producer paper should not choose this category, and a producer renewing should not choose it either, because the fee is not refundable.

Conn. Gen. Stat. 38a-800(b)(3) forbids an examination for this license and the Department requires no course, so there is no paper to prepare for and no course to approve. No national seller offers a Connecticut fraternal agent product. What stands between an applicant and the license is a fraternal society willing to certify and appoint them, which nobody sells.
