A Colorado insurance producer license, resident or nonresident
Part 9 of article 2 licenses two trades under one name. Section 10-2-903(1) stops a reinsurance intermediary-producer keeping an office in Colorado unless it is a licensed producer here, and 10-2-903(2) stops a reinsurance intermediary-manager acting for a Colorado-domiciled reinsurer, or keeping an office here, on the same condition; an intermediary based in another state may instead hold a Colorado nonresident reinsurance intermediary license. Section 10-2-903(4)(a) is the granting sentence, and it is unusually wide: a license issued to a firm authorizes every member and any designated employee to act under it, and a license issued to a corporation authorizes every officer and any designated employee or director, each of them named in the application. No course and no examination. Section 10-2-903(3) lets the commissioner require a manager to file a bond for the reinsurer's protection and to carry errors and omissions cover, both in amounts the commissioner finds acceptable, and 10-2-903(5) lets the commissioner refuse the license for untrustworthiness and furnish a summary of the reasons on written request. Section 10-2-903(6) exempts licensed Colorado attorneys acting in their professional capacity from the whole section. The Division prices it apart from every other producer instrument, at $200 to apply and $200 to renew, and takes the new application by email rather than through Sircon. Cited to the Colorado Revised Statutes 2026, which the Office of Legislative Legal Services publishes as one HTML file per title with no per-section address, so the section is named here rather than linked.

Nothing is sold for it and nothing could be. Part 9 of article 2 sets no examination and no course for a reinsurance intermediary; what it asks for is a Colorado producer license underneath, which is where the courses five sellers price actually attach.
