A business entity offering travel insurance, with an individually licensed insurance producer responsible for the entity’s compliance and for ensuring registered travel retailers’ employees complete the required training
Laws 2014, chapter 24, HB 2047, did two things at once and the second is the one a reader is likely to trip on: it established the limited lines travel insurance producer business entity license AND eliminated the individual travel accident ticket and baggage insurance producer license. There is no individual travel license in Arizona to apply for. No pre-licensing course and no examination; the application is Form L-LTD through NIPR for $120. A travel retailer has two ways to be lawful under A.R.S. 20-333: register with a licensed travel insurance producer, or become one. The training in the article is the producer's duty to its retailers rather than an applicant's qualification, and so is the register: 20-333(A)(2) requires a register of travel retailers accessible to the Department within thirty days of a request, kept offsite as well as onsite and updated no later than the second calendar day after the onsite copy.
