-
A stock corporation or limited liability company authorized by a title insurer to solicit insurance and collect premiums for cover against liens, encumbrances, defects in or unmarketability of title to real property
A.R.S. 20-1562 defines the title insurance agent as a stock corporation or limited liability company, and the Department repeats it as a condition rather than a description: a business enterprise must be formed as a corporation or limited liability company and must be licensed to solicit business, collect premiums or countersign policies on a title insurer's behalf. That is why there is no individual title agent license in Arizona and no title examination for one, where Delaware, Indiana and Tennessee all license a person. No pre-licensing course. The application goes through NIPR for $120, with Form L-193 for an assumed name, and Form L-177 or Form L-CHG within thirty days of any change of member, officer, director or designated responsible licensed producer.

No national seller sells a course for this license. Arizona issues this license to a corporation or limited liability company and not to a person, so there is no individual to sit an examination or buy preparation for one. Sellers do carry title products in the states that license a person, and Arizona is not one of them.
