Every way to qualify

  1. Route 1 Be employed by a political subdivision

No state exam for this license

    • Employment by an Arizona political subdivision, for the purposes of title 11, chapter 7, article 5; the license expires automatically when that employment ends

A.R.S. 20-331.01(A), and every clause of it matters. Only an employee of a political subdivision may hold this license; the director licenses them in the same manner as insurance producers; the director may waive the examination requirement, which is written as a discretion rather than a rule, so this site records no examination as required and none as excused; and the license automatically expires when the employee terminates employment with the political subdivision. There is no course anywhere in the section. 20-331.01(B) then applies most of the producer article to the licensee, which is what carries the fee, the reporting duties and the grounds for denial across. Continuing education is the producer's own, forty-eight hours including six of ethics.
