-
Route 1 Apply as a vendor through a designated representative
No state exam for this license
-
A vendor intending to sell or offer coverage under a portable electronics insurance policy, applying in writing through the designated representative who is responsible for the vendor’s compliance
A.R.S. 20-1693.01(A) and (C). No examination and no course: the application is a written form signed by the designated representative responsible for compliance, and where the vendor draws more than fifty per cent of its revenue from selling this insurance the same information is required for every officer, director and ten per cent shareholder. 20-1693.01(B) is why nobody behind the counter is separately licensed: the limited lines license authorizes any employee or authorized representative of the vendor to sell at each location the vendor engages in portable electronics transactions. There IS training in this article and it is not the applicant's: the vendor must train its own employees and representatives about the coverage and about Arizona law, which is a duty on the employer and satisfied by nothing sold to an individual. A supervising entity, an insurer or producer, keeps the registry of authorized locations and opens it to the director on ten days' notice.

No national seller sells a course for this license. There is no examination and no course, and no individual to sell one to: the licensee is the vendor, and the training in A.R.S. 20-1693 is the vendor's duty to its own staff.
