The Alabama Service Representative license
Service Representative
Closed. Alabama stopped issuing new service representative licenses on 1 January 2024 under Act 2023-104, and the only people who can hold one are those who already did and renew it on time. A lapse cancels it permanently.

a valid Alabama service representative license held before 1 January 2024, renewed on time under Regulations 482-1-110 and 482-1-147; the Department warns that failure to renew timely "may result in its permanent cancellation"
This is one of the two closed licenses on this site, with New Jersey's viatical settlement broker and the page for it is the whole of the Department's statement: "Governor Kay Ivey signed Ala. Act No. 2023-104 that eliminated the issuance of new service representative licenses effective January 1, 2024. Any person already possessing a valid service representative license may continue to hold and renew such license in accordance with Regulations 482-1-110 and 482-1-147."There is no route in for anybody who did not already hold one, and there never will be. It is kept here because the Department still lists it among its licensing requirements, still prices it on its fee schedule at $70 initial and $70 biennial, and somebody searching for it deserves the date rather than a blank. A license a department still lists is not necessarily a license a department still issues, which is a different failure from Iowa's headings that were never licenses at all: this one was, until a dated statute closed it.

Nothing is sold against it and nothing can be. Alabama stopped issuing new service representative licenses on 1 January 2024 under Act 2023-104, so there is no candidate for a product to serve.
