The Alabama Emergency Independent Adjuster license
Emergency Independent Adjuster
A registration the insurer files rather than a license the adjuster applies for, open only during a state of emergency and good for 90 days. The Department issues a physical pass with it, which nothing else on this site does.

and being otherwise qualified
-
Being otherwise qualified to adjust claims while not already licensed as an independent adjuster in Alabama
and the insurer's registration, filed within five days
-
A registration filed by the insurer with the commissioner within five days of the adjuster's deployment, giving the individual's name and Social Security number, the insurer represented, the effective date of the contract between them, the catastrophe or loss control number and the catastrophe event name
27-9A-5(b) puts the filing on the insurer rather than on the adjuster, which Hawaii also does and Washington does not. Five days from deployment, not from the declaration. 27-9A-5(d) runs the registration 90 days unless the commissioner extends it and (e) caps the fee at $50 for each adjuster registered, collected from the insurer; the Department charges $60 through its T.E.A.R.S. system, which is the registration fee plus its own online charge. 27-9A-5(g) is the sentence that stops this being a way round the chapter: a registered emergency independent adjuster is subject to the grounds for refusal at 27-9A-12, to 27-9A-14 and 27-9A-15, and to the whole Trade Practices Law at chapter 12, "to the same extent as if licensed as an independent adjuster in this state". The Department issues Emergency Adjuster Passes and Emergency Adjuster Access Passes against the registration, good for 90 days from issue, which is the only physical credential named anywhere on this site.

No national seller sells a course for this license. There is nothing to sell: the registration is filed by the insurer, asks the adjuster for no examination and no qualification of its own, and lasts 90 days.
